Nagado Ti Fiesta idtoy Vigan!!

During the month of May, Vigan

 City has another celebration

 known as the "Binatbatan

 Festival." The Viva Vigan

Binatbatan Festival of Arts has a

 calesa parade, binatbatan street

 dance, ramada games, religious

 rituals, santacruzan, bankathon,

exhibitions, trade/food fairs, abel-iloco fashion show, and other exciting

events. The Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of Art are celebrated during

the last week of April to the first week of May. It was established in

1993 by the Save Vigan Ancestral Homes Association, Inc (SVAHAI) to

promote the town's value and to promote the Vigan's natural beauty.

Binatbatan Festival has its origins in Vigan's

abel weaving business, which existed long

before the Spaniards arrived to colonize the

Philippines. It comes from the word batbat,

which refers to a pair of bamboo sticks used to

remove cotton pods from kapas sanglay trees.

Binatbatan is a famous festival in Vigan since it

promotes the city's products and tourism destinations. However, due to

a well-known virus, an epidemic broke out, and the Vigan's currency

began to drop. It's tough to imagine one of the Philippines' most

beautiful cities was in such deep crisis.

As the covid virus minimize its

number, we are able to celebrate

 the binatbatan festival this year.

But we must not forget that the

virus still exist and mask and

sanitizers are still needed. Let us

appreciate the history and the group who made Binatbatan Festival.
